John L. Istre is a partner in the audit department of Broussard, Poche', Lewis and Breaux, LLP. Mr. Istre has been with the firm for twelve years and worked in banking prior to joining the firm. His practice includes general audit services with an emphasis on financial institutions and not for profit organizations. Other areas of knowledge include information systems controls and environments in all business settings with particular emphasis in financial institutions.
Mr. Istre is a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana, where he earned a Bachelor of Science, with a major in finance in 1991, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in accounting in 1993.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants. Community activities include membership in the Lions Club. Mr. Istre also currently serves on the Rayne Catholic Elementary school board and has been an advisor to the board for approximately ten years.
